BRIEF

• To engage with the youth of Parramatta and surrounding council areas and communicate the levels of safety when gathering in Parramatta Square

CONTEXT

This brief was a group university assessment working alongside Parramatta Council in relation to the re-branding and new development of Parramatta Sqaure. As one of the team leaders, my proposal was chosen by the Council representative that we were working with. The section of brief that I was delegated was to provide a potential solution and outcome that the Council could use as a way to reiterate the regulations and safety precautions that must be followed in public areas in a way that would engage with the youth of the community. My concept proposal was to incorporate the messages of safety into social media posts promoting the Square and what it offered. I suggested to use colloquial language and playful humour as a way to reduce the formality of the situation whilst still addressing serious topics. Using PSQ branding and identity style guides, I created a social media campaign concept that was then followed by the other team leaders to create Instagram carousel posts as a way to meet our individual components of the brief as well as easily engage with the target audience.

OUTCOME

An updated design for regulatory signage that is consistent with new and updated branding of Parramatta Square.

Social media campaign to engage with the youth of the surrounding areas promoting activities and safety whilst at the Square.
