BRIEF

• To develop a coffee-table book that communicates the nature and lifestyle of Italian culture in a time when international travel is not a option.

CONTEXT

This task was designed and developed during the NSW COVID-19 lockdown period of 2021. I gathered recipes from family members, recounted memories from travels to Italy and experiences growing up in a large Italian family, and collated it all into a single book. I cooked each recipe that I had gathered, photographed these dishes as well as included photographs from family photo albums and recent holidays. The end result is now a token which my family and I treasure dearly. Below are some examples of the spreads included within the book.

OUTCOME

The development of a printed publication that communicates and informs the reader of traditional activities and dishes of an Italian family, with the collective stories and traditions of multiple Italian families.
